Inflammation is an underlying mechanism in virtually every chronic health problem in medicine. A recent article in Time magazine termed inflammation “The Silent Killer” and noted that it appears to be an underlying mechanism in everything from heart disease to Alzheimer’s and cancer. The suffix “-itis” means inflammation and is part of the terminology for most of the illnesses from which we suffer. Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and thyroiditis, coronary artery disease, uveitis, hepatitis are just a few conditions which share the common feature of inflammation.
The inflammation process involves a triggering event such as an infection, toxin exposure or allergic reaction that results in tissue injury. Often times what perpetuates the process is the immune systems inability to turn off or rid the body of a particular infection. We have developed individualized programs using combinations of medications, antibiotics, antivirals, herbs, nutrients, probiotics, minerals, transfer factors, hormone and immune modulators to control inflammation and limit damage.
