Dr. Beer is a Board Certified Internist specializing in general internal medicine, preventive healthcare and Functional Medicine. He is also Board Certified in Holistic Medicine. Dr. Beer has been in private practice since 1981 and is on staff at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.
A graduate of Columbia College and New York Medical College, Dr. Beer completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College. He has advanced training in Functional Medicine, nutrition and Integrative Medicine. He has completed the training in Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice and is currently pursuing a series of advanced seminars that will lead to certification in Functional Medicine.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Beer worked as an emergency room physician, was the Medical Director of the Center for Comprehensive Health Practice, and served as a consultant to the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Program. He was a clinical instructor at New York Medical College and served as director of the College’s general medical clinic. He is currently a clinical instructor in the NYU Nurse Practitioner program.
Dr. Mailloux graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in public health and a masters degree in health science. Dr. Mailloux went on to receive her medical degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
She then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, where she also served as chief medical resident. Upon completion of her residency, she completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Dr. Mailloux is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease in addition to certifications in nuclear cardiology, adult echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound interpretation. She has a particular interest in women and heart disease and primary prevention of coronary artery disease.

Susannah Kerwin is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with specialties in Adult Primary Care and Holistic Medicine. Susannah treats patients using an approach that blends complementary and traditional methods. Ms. Kerwin obtained her MSN from New York University’s rigorous and unique dual degree program combining integrative and allopathic disciplines.
Originally from California, Susannah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of San Francisco. Living in this diverse city opened her eyes and heart and set the stage for her future role as a health care practitioner. Susannah has more than ten years experience working as an RN in psychiatric and surgical settings.
Ms. Kerwin collaborates with each patient to create a personalized plan for optimal health. Individual health goals and needs are addressed and adjusted at each visit. Susannah believes that many health goals can be met by simple changes in diet and lifestyle.
Ms. Kerwin spends her free time listening to public radio, experimenting in the kitchen, reading, and exploring New York. She loves travel and spent a year living in Beijing, China where she experienced first-hand the value of alternative medicine in her own life. Susannah is also currently completing her certification in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Lisa is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with specialties in Adult Primary Care and Holistic Medicine. She earned her dual masters degree from New York University.
